How to Clean Windows While Your Home is For Sale | Renewal by ...

As compared to clean windows, dirty windows make a home look bad and uncared for. Windows are one of the first things that buyers see when they are viewing your home, and dirty ones will make them question what else in your home you neglected while you owned it.
Instead, put in the time and effort to make your home look as good as it possibly can and keep those windows clean.

Don?t Forget to Clean Windows At Least Once a Week

Forgetting to clean windows around your home is an easy thing to do. Your life is busy, you are looking for a new home now and you have to accommodate your realtor whenever they have a chance to show your home. But, like we already talked about, it is essential to keep your windows as clean as possible.

This doesn?t mean that you have to clean them every day though; working to clean windows at least once a week should do the trick. The only time you would really have to clean them more often is if they got dirty after a storm or the birds have been around your home.

Easier to Clean Windows

If you have decided to increase your home?s value and replace your windows before you sell it, ask about easier to clean windows. There are companies out there, like Renewal by Andersen that sell windows that are easier to clean and keep clean.

Only do this is if you have already resolved to replace your windows though. Changing your windows to easier to clean windows isn?t a home improvement project that will increase the value of your home. It will make life easier for you while your home is for sale, but it really only looks good as a selling point when it is accompanied with other great things about your windows like: they are energy efficient, just installed, etc.

Preventing Having to Clean Windows of Water Stains

The trick to not having to clean water stains from your windows so often is to keep them clean.

How can you do that though? You can?t put an umbrella over your windows every time it rains or the sprinklers come on, but there are two things you can do.

One, readjust the sprinkler heads so that they don?t spray on the windows. This one is so easy that most people don?t think about it.

Two, use a product like rain?x on you windows. Rain?x creates a barrier between your windows and the water causing the water to bead up and just roll off your window. If the water doesn?t stick to the window, it can?t cause a water stain. No water stains means that having to clean windows around your home will be much easier.
