What happens to all the stuff the TSA confiscates (like pocket tools and knives) or that get left behind at airport checkpoints? They go on sale?for really cheap, which is good news for those of us who like to score a great deal.
It's astounding the things people still try to bring on airplanes?swords, box cutters, knives, scissors, and so on. CNN Money has a roundup slideshow of the sorts of items that are resold by the TSAs.
Besides weapons, tools, and other items the TSA has deemed dangerous (e.g., rolling pins and snow globes), you'll also find there regular items like neck pillows, sunglasses, jewelry, and coats left behind by rushing travelers.
The TSA items are all at a big discount: three pairs of scissors for a dollar, cork screws for ten cents, and belts for $5.
Go bargain shopping at GovDeals.com or a government-run surplus store.
