If you look into it, you will see that the cost is not as high as you may think. Yellow pages offline are still used by tens of millions which makes it a good way to go. The right ad copy even with a smaller space ad will give you better visibility.
Take out a classified ad in your local newspaper. But do not jump into this without thinking everything through, and your product or service need to be able to do well with offline ads. What is funny about this is so many newspapers have a web component, and that means your offline advertising gets on the web in the end. You have to admit that the extra circulation is only a good thing and may bring in more revenue. You are probably already advertising your business in online classifieds sites like Craigslist, then spend a little cash and utilize your local classifieds as well. You can find offline advertising and marketing avenues both on the net and offline. Why would you bother spending time on this, though? The thing to remember is not everybody spends much time on the web. Also do not rely on people to come to you, and you literally have to go where they can be found.
