Rights in Law do not need a separate, individual credential issued by the Government in order to exercise said Rights.
The US Constitution is the only credential needed.
Freedom of the 'Press' in the First Amendment means Printing Press, not the Mainstream Media.
Freedom of Speech = Spoken Word.
Freedom of the Press = Printed Word.
Just as a person does not need a special license to talk about Government Action one does not need a special license to document Government Action by way of the Printed Word.
But, hell, hes not very bright anyway. If he was an Occupier then the Federal Government would have allowed him to Occupy the Hearing, because Occupiers can Occupy Government Property at will in Washington D.C..
